Hello Hello sweet darlins'!

I hope this post finds you are quite well. :)  Me and my friend Sandra are co-styling some shoots for our own portfolios.  We've been working really hard on the wardrobe for these two photo shoots for the last 4 days and I am really excited to show you guys!
Sandra is an up and coming stylist...and it has been super fun to combine our vintage clothing and create outfits together.  Aside from that, the weather has been GORGEOUS and I can't help but crank up Sweetheart of the Rodeo with my patio doors open and just enjoy this springtime bliss.

This is me and Waylon in my bedroom.  Waylon (Yes named after the Late Waylon Jennings) is my 2 yr old Shar Pei who we rescued in California.  We bought him to be a companion for Crumbles...but she died 8 months after we welcomed him into our home.  I still cry every week over Crumbles being gone.  Is this normal? :( I just miss her so much, she was my little baby doll...she was an amazing dog and the best buddy ever. 

Anyways, for those of you who have asked, I still have not heard from SVA.  I think I should in about 3 weeks or so.  They have everything from me now...just waiting to find out.  I've decided it's totally fine if I don't get in, because I can take continuing ed classes.  I know exactly what classes I want to take, so I can take them in numerous places in Nyc.  Part of me doesn't even want to commit to 3 years of school.  But, part of me does too...

I kind of want to get pregnant at some point.  I guess my biological clock is ticking...haha.  But I think it would be so special to have one.  I will still work, but the cool thing about photography is that I can take the jobs I want to and be home a lot too. 

Tomorrow I am going uptown to have breakfast with my sister in Law Naoko.  I told her to prepare herself, I am taking some pictures of her! Haha...she is seriously the most gorgeous woman in the world.  My brother married a Japanese doll!  She has the most amazing closet, you guys would freak out, all vintage and all adorable.  Her style is great.  Her daughter, my niece, has a complete vintage closet too. haha it's great.  I am going to photograph her very soon!

Well kids, I am going to go and watch Big Love...I missed it Sunday night! AHHH soo much is going on in that show right now.

Hello old friends!

if I look a little peeved in this photo, it is because I have been trapped inside and unable to photograph the shoots I have had planned for at least a month or more.

I know It is has been a looooong time since I have posted photos or anything for that matter.  I have been seriously hating this east coast snow.  I have had 4 shoots canceled due to snow and they have been rescheduled over and over again and still haven't happened! I had one finally happening Monday and it rained all day and now it has snowed every day since (last night we got a foot of snow!).  I am sooooo ready for the spring.  The weather here makes me really miss Los Angeles winters.  I guess if I didn't need to shoot so much outside, then the weather wouldn't bother me that much, but my shoots being canceled and the snow refusing to melt is a bit frustrating.  The thing is, I don't really like indoor studio shots...so, I'm holding out for a decent day, where there is NO snow on the ground and weather that won't make the model freeze after 10 minutes.

I have the most charming wardrobe picked out for 4 different stories I plan on shooting when the weather gets better.  I have models, makeup, hair, everything is ready to go, I just need a decent day here.I also bought a few different video camera, vintage and new...and I have a final cut pro class I am taking in April, so I am going to dabble in video as well!  I am super excited about that.  I have ALOT ALOT ALOT running through my mind...and come spring, or anytime the weather is decent, I am going to be nonstop shooting. I literally have story after story in my notebook to shoot.  My shoots are somewhat character/story driven...and I am SO ANXIOUS to photograph them.

So---other than that...I've been slowly trying to get rid of Lullie Vintage leftovers...the store has some items in there now and will be re-stocked by Monday.  I have about 3 weeks left to wait until I find out if I am accepted to SVA or not.  :)  I took a private photo class last week and learned a lot of fun stuff that I am quite anxious to use in these upcoming shoots.

In other news, my husband is almost done with his solo album.  There is a song on album that I sing on and I can't wait to show you all!  I'll post the music video and the song when it is up online!  I promise that when the weather starts to be consistent, there will be constant blog posts with tons and tons of shoots!  I'm seriously being held back by the weather...

Oh and check out these photos from a shoot I provided clothing for recently (PHOTOS BELOW).  My best friend styled it and I brought all these clothes over and our friends photographed it. Rinko kikuchi  (Babel, The Brothers Bloom) was a complete delight, she is the cutest and most genuine actress and she looks stunning in the shots.  So, go over to LUV magazine and sign up for their email list to keep updated on them or check out their blog.  It's a great magazine run by super artsy people. 

I headed over to the Zac Posen Z spoke Launch Party at Saks with my best friend, there's a picture of Me, Miya and Stephen Posen on that link.  I'm not a real fan of fashion parties or the industry at all for that matter, but it was nice to see old friends. We went for Japanese food in the East village afterwards and I actually found something different to eat this time (Soba Gnnocci)...yay!  My sister in law and my best friend are both from Japan, so I end up at Japanese places alot and I don't eat fish, so I end up with vege tempura and edamame most of time time.  Anyhow, good times!

Also, I am thinking of changing the name of this site.  Now that It is not a fashion blog---I'll be keeping you all up to date on that of it changes soon.

LUV Magazine Photos:  Michael Brandt

 My trip to Nashville had to be re-scheduled, because my precious dog Waylon got very ill this last week.  He got sick with the same thing that my first dog Crumbles died of this summer.  I was so scared I was going to lose him like I lost Crumbles...it was really a very heart wrenching week for me.  I spent two nights and days on the floor in a backroom at the Emergency Vet place.  They let me and Waylon stay together in that room the entire time, which I wish so badly me and Crumbles could have had.  When she was dying, they would only let me visit 15 minutes at a time :(  We were able to save Waylon through the right medicines and constant monitoring, and I am over the moon happy and relieved.  I'm going to be staying at my parents house in Pennsylvania for the next week, to give Waylon a rest from having to walk to use the restroom, like we have to do in Nyc.

So, I won't be able to do any photo shoots in the next few weeks.  I am however, working on a new website and some other fun things, which I will let you all in on at some point :)

Since I don't have any fun photos to post, I figured I would let you all see a video my husband and I were apart of while living in Los Angeles.  Our Friend Michael Graham directed this video for Jonathan Wilson, and it is truly so beautiful.  It was one of the coldest days that I can remember out there in California and also one of my fondest memories from our time living there.  It was a wonderful experience and it turned out so beautiful!

I am so inspired and intrigued by this magical and delightful artist, Joanne Burke, known as Chromium Dumb Belle.  "Joanne is also the author/illustrator of Biba Dolls, a book published in 2004 that pays homage to the infamous London Biba boutique of the 60s and 70s" and I wanted to share this inspiration and eye candy with you all.  I first heard of her, from a comment she left on one of my photos on this blog.  I went to thank the kind person who left the comment, as I always try to do, and it brought me to her blog!  From there, I was hooked! She is amazing and I really really want to take a trip out west to do some portraits of her sometime soon. It would be so fun and such an honor to photograph a true artist like her.

Her website says this about her work: "Her embroidered hangings and art-to-wear accessories depict her own bizarre fairy tales and odd historical characters in multi-coloured  dream worlds of glowing metallics and faded techni-coloured satins. Hello ladies and Gents...

Here are the photos from my latest shoot!  I drove out to Connecticut yesterday to photograph this lovely model Samantha, and it was great fun!  It was soooo cold, but we managed to have a good time, despite the fact that our fingers were numb!  It was the first time that I have gone on location without planning the shoot out days in advance.  Normally I like to know where I am shooting, but since I had never been to the models hometown, I decided to just wing it!  I had pre-planned the clothing/styling, but really was just trying to be adventurous when it came to our locations. :)

On this shoot, I decided to photograph two ways, some of the pictures I shot with filters on my lens and then I'd switch to shooting without filters...so there are some shots that are very clean and some with that vintage/aged vibe.  I never know which I like more, because I really like to use both. 

So...let me know what you all think!  I'm heading down to Nashville Feb. 1st and I have a lot of photo shoots planned there.  Then I am making my way down to Florida to see my mom and dad, and I'm starting to plan for some shooting down there too.  If anyone knows any models in Orlando, let me know!  I'll be looking for some girls to photograph.  I'll keep you all updated with new photos, as they come about!  Thank you so much for all of your comments, critiques and friendly hello's.  I LOVE hearing from you all!
