WALKIN' THE FLOOR OVER YOU

Hello everyone!
Well, I was not at all pleased with this set of photos...In fact I almost didn't post this. This is the Only shot I thought was ok...and the photo below was my tester shot of me.
I realized while testing the set up that I needed more red curtain to drape better and that the pedestal I was using to sit on should be black. I'm learning more and more that I NEED to focus on small details BEFORE I take the picture. I tend to notice things after the fact, which is not a good habit to have. Overall, I think this theme sucks. I was hoping for a theatrical, but simple feel in the shot. I don't know...I didn't exactly get what I was going for. So---onto the next shoot. I have a photo shoot planned for Monday with a model. I just got a Polaroid 600SE and I am soooooo excited about it! I'm figureing out hot to use it today :)
The shoot on monday is going to be fun, but cold...venturing outside...brrrrrr!
Fingers crossed it turns out ok. ;)

I like it. It definitely doesn't suck. But you are right about attention to detail in composed shots like these . . . But you cannot learn unless you make lots and lots of mistakes. So take heart in the fact that you ARE learning and your photos are really improving (actually, they are all damn good to me).
I love how everyone's skin in your photos look and I agree with the comment above, posted by, The Photodiarist.
Girl, the photos here are really beautiful! Yesss of course, small details do make the photo look better but I feel as long as its your best effort, its alright:)
Can't wait to hear good news from you on your school<3
since you feel this way, it might be a good idea to review photos of previous shoots as you're prepping? or have a list of what you noticed before posted within sight?
i think it's a good attempt! but i know next to nothing about photography. i am a bit uncomfortable with the empty space between the figure and the border though, i feel like it could be more?
I like what it seems you were trying to do, there is definately a simplicity to the shots here. Alot of us tend to remember or think of things after the fact, don't fret about it, you learned from it and that is the most important thing!

Awww Thank you Cassandra! I still look at this shot and I just don't like it. But, like you said, I learned from it! I def. did! I appreciate your comment. Thank you for taking the time to check out my work and leave a message. You all are too too kind. I am so appreciative.
