RAINY DAY WOMAN
Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 11:13PM

I've been sick all day today so I didn't get to list the 40 items of clothing on ebay, like I had planned. I rang my sister in law who lives uptown and asked if I could go up there and take a bath and just hang out at their place all day. That was just what the doctor ordered! I got to watch Beauty & The Beast with my gorgeous 2.5 year old Niece Sakura. I forgot how great that movie is! When I came home tonight, I decided to start working on my scrap book journal that I have to put together for the portfolio to get into Photography school. The first page collage I am working on had to do with Petals and flowers. I decided to put on some teal eye shadow and no other makeup and shoot myself in my living room with the petal body suit I made recently. I used some filters and had my f-stop pushed all the way down to 1.4. Brining it down that low is part what I love about my new lens...which is a Nikkor A F - S lens 50mm. It works really well in low light. The only thing I don't like is that it is not a telephoto, it is a fixed lens. I wasn't sure if that would be a good idea, but so far I like it. It will allow me to do photos with blurred backgrounds too, which I am soooooo excited about trying out!
Well, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!
xoxo,
Shae

Amazing talent
Love love love those pictures, especially in color. The softness of the tones reminds the delicacy of the flowers. Your bodysuit is awesome, must have been a lot of work!
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you feel better soon and thank you for sharing more beautiful photos you've taken. It's always so exciting to see what you've been creating:)
Am so glad that you invested in a new lens. You have skills for sure, but the new lens will help to really show them off! The 50mm is a good lens to have. I prefer primes myself and have collected 6 of them over the years (as opposed to 3 zoom lenses, which I rarely use). Primes are a pain in some ways because you have to change them out and in doing so, you can lose the shot, but in staged photoshoots, they are best, in my humble opinion. Cannot wait to hear more about your getting into photography school!
wow... love these photos.the bodysuit, florals and socks are amazing!

either way, looks good.
