GOLDEN BIRD

For the shot below, I used a grey filter, without the warm filter...so the light/color is different...

Hey everyone, I am sooooo sorry I have not updated this blog in awhile. I have been working hard on sewing pieces for the wardrobe for some photo shoots I have lined up in the next few weeks (and i've also been selling lots of vintage clothes at lullie vintage). I have some models booked and I am so excited to experiment with my new lens and filters I just bought! I just got a MUCH better lens and a filter screw on holder with about 6 different filters. I LOVE playing with these! So for these shots, I was just testing out a few different backdrops I put together for one of my shoots with a model. I used 2 filters and natural light coming from the window. I wanted to see what you all think of them and what could be better or changed for my REAL shoot using the models in this location.
I wanted to get more light on the face, but I was having trouble getting it from the reflector I have. I have a white reflector which may have been too soft, should I try using one of the silver reflectors? Will a silver reflector give me more light on the face? For the shot below, I am very unsatisfied with it...I am not sure what it is about the shot that I am not happy with. Maybe the costume, I am not sure. I will definitely be tweaking that shot.
Well I hope you are all doing great! I will post the photos from my upcoming shoots, as soon as I take them!
xoxo,
Shae

Every new set of photos you post get better and better. I am so glad that you used natural light from your window, it came out beautifully. These pictures are so pretty, I think you could sell them. Your work looks very professional, I would never know you're so new to it.
Congrats on all your eBay sales. You always have the cutest dresses and you style them well.
I can't wait to see the pictures you take of the models.
What kind of lens did you get? I really love the last photo. My favorite of the group. The backlight is incredible.
love the clothes ! absolutely amazing wardrobe. the filter effects and natural light really work with
the background and style of clothing. I've heard a silver reflector is more efficient.
I have a silver reflector but haven't tried a white reflector.
great work! can't wait to see more!
try using a reflector that is gold for a more sun like look. Silver can be harsh but try both and see what is better. you need an assistant so you can direct where you want the light.
I love the way your style of taking pictures. I also like the dress what she wears. Thanks for sharing this photos.
I'm in love with them!
They light and the colours are so beautiful!
The colour is just amazing! I love all the pastel and vintage life through your pics! I loooooooove it!

these photos are stunning <3
I'm seriously lovin' your photography! I do a bit of it myself - mainly still life and architectural.
As far as reflectors, you'll get the strongest output from silver, but it can be a bit harsh on some faces. Gold is almost as strong and has more warmth, so it tends to be more flattering. If you're really trying to push the fashion angle in your pics though, do beware of gold, as it can distort the colors of clothes and soften details.
Wow! Amazing photos!!
